Anaheim, CA (January 14th, 2010) - Spectr Audio engineers have reached the next level in compact line array performance with the development of the LeraSonic™636M. This compact line array element was introduced at the 2010 NAMM Show along with its low frequency counterpart, the LS115F.The LS636M is built with 3 independent acoustical chambers, and features dual high-efficiency 6” neodymium drivers. The high frequency section of the 636M is comprised of a 3” compression driver mounted to a waveguide with a 10º vertical and 120º horizontal coverage patter, housed in the RCC3™, the compact, third generation version of Spectr Audio’s proprietary Rapid Change Cartridge™.
The element is constructed from calibrated Baltic birch, with added rigidity and reinforcement from the tri- chamber design. The cabinet’s low profile and weight fall well in line with its minimal and very functional design, resulting in an ergonomic and easy-to-handle enclosure. The rigging hardware on the 636M is also minimal, easy to rig and adjust. The hardware is adjustable with ten one-degree increments between elements, and five one-degree increments between element and sub.
The tri-chamber design allows the LS636M to operate as a true three-way line array element. Each driver section is acoustically isolated from the others, which prevents drivers operating in different frequencies from interfering with each other. This achieves incredible clarity, and allows each component to work in its optimal range.
The 636M can be set-up to run as a two or three-way system. In the factory recommended three-way configuration, the two 6” drivers are crossed over so that one is working as the LF section, and the other as the MF section.
The high sensitivity of the drivers (LF/MF: 97 dB HF: 109 dB), full frequency response (78 Hz – 18 kHz at +/-1 dB) and wide 120º horizontal dispersion, make this dual 6” line array a serious competitor to line array in it’s class, and a viable alternative to many dual 8” line arrays on the market.
